Book Typing Contract

This Book Typing Contract (“Contract”) is made and entered into between [Typist Name], (“Typist”) and [Author Name], (“Author”) on [Date].

1. Services Typist agrees to provide typing services (“Services”) to Author for the purpose of typing Author’s book titled [Book Title] (“Book”). The Services may include, but are not limited to, typing the Book from the Author’s handwritten manuscript or other materials provided by the Author.
2. Payment Author agrees to pay Typist [Fee] for the Services. Payment will be made in [Installments/Full] upon completion of the Services. Payment shall be made by [Payment Method]. If Author cancels this Contract before the completion of the Services, Author shall pay Typist for all Services performed up to the date of cancellation.
3. Schedule Typist agrees to complete the Services by [Completion Date]. Author agrees to provide Typist with the manuscript or other materials in the required format by [Due Date]. If Author fails to provide the manuscript or other materials in the required format by the Due Date, the Completion Date may be extended at the discretion of the Typist.
4. Author’s Responsibilities Author shall provide Typist with the manuscript or other materials in the required format and shall ensure that the Book complies with all applicable laws and regulations. Author shall have the final say in all typing decisions.
5. Confidentiality Typist agrees to keep the contents of the Book and any other materials provided by Author confidential and shall not disclose them to any third party without Author’s written consent.
6. Ownership Author represents and warrants that Author is the sole owner of the Book and has full power and authority to enter into this Contract. Typist acknowledges that Author retains all rights, title, and interest in and to the Book.
7. Termination Either party may terminate this Contract upon written notice to the other party if the other party breaches any material provision of this Contract. Upon termination, Typist shall return all materials provided by Author.
8. Indemnification Author agrees to indemnify and hold Typist harmless from any and all claims, damages, or expenses arising out of or in connection with the Book, including but not limited to any claims of copyright infringement.
9. Governing Law This Contract shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the [State/Country] without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
10. Entire Agreement This Contract contains the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes all prior and contemporaneous negotiations and agreements, whether oral or written.
11. Amendment This Contract may not be amended except in writing signed by both parties.
12. Waiver No waiver of any provision of this Contract shall be deemed a waiver of any other provision or a continuing waiver of the same provision.
13. Assignment Neither party may assign this Contract without the prior written consent of the other party.
